Strategy, development & support for coalitions, associations, organizations and initiatives
Lily Wein is a proud Pittsburgher dedicated to helping her city’s communities reach their full potential. She is driven by her belief in the power of collaboration to address community issues. Her passion for Pittsburgh galvanized her to return to the city and open the second branch of Woollard Nichols & Associates.
Lily has over seven years of experience in social sector consulting, providing management and strategy support to coalitions, associations, and boards in the social services sector; conducting research and data analysis; facilitating strategic planning processes; and coordinating projects and events. She specializes in understanding the needs of organizations and communities, with an approach that prioritizes asking the right questions to determine and implement the most effective path forward. She is an exceptional project manager who is well versed in how to manage complex projects with multiple players and ensure that all aspects of a project are diligently considered and addressed.
Lily’s expertise in coordinating advocacy efforts, capacity building programs, and grant writing have resulted in a range of community impacts including a $8.9 million increase to social service contracts in the City of Austin budget; the creation of a fellowship program for individuals with lived experience in the criminal justice system; state funding for local food and shelter programs; and capacity building funding for coalitions. Lily also coordinated One Voice Central Texas’s reframing initiative, leading One Voice to be selected as one of three partner organizations in the country by the National Human Services Assembly to collaborate in implementing a new communications framework around human services.
Lily is returning to Pittsburgh after honing these skills in Austin, TX as the Director of Community Projects for Woollard Nichols & Associates. Before that, she attended the University of Toronto, where she earned an Honors B.A. in Equity Studies. She considers her time growing up in the East End of Pittsburgh and attending the Pittsburgh Public Schools (Schenley High School) as one of her most formative experiences, and she’s thrilled to be coming back to the City of Bridges to build community bridges. In her spare time, Lily enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and of course, cheering for the Steelers.
